Why did you pick this product vs others?:Great weight distribution hitch.  Reduces sway and dolphining of camper.

I downsized trucks. I went from a crew cab F350, long bed to a regular cab F150. I found that my larger truck was not the best at getting my truck and trailer into some of the jobsites I was working in. The tight streets and older neighborhoods, where most of my work has been lately, was making things difficult for me. If I parked my rig on a city street it would actually block two driveways at a time. And I also did not appreciate the fuel milage I was getting with this larger truck. So, I downsized.However, downsizing brought about some other problems. My tool trailer and equipment trailer were on the larger end of my new truck’s capacity. The 5.0-liter engine pulled well but the lighter suspension didn’t tow as well. I put this Anderson on and it’s like the truck and trailer became one well balanced unit. I did also add helper springs for rearend support. But that was after the fact.But, even without the helper springs the trailer and truck were almost perfect.This Anderson no-sway reduces sway in the wind, keeps my tail (trailer) from wagging the dog. Backs in easily into tight spaces. And I even noticed a big reduction in wheel hop and bouncing over bumps.I’m extremely happy with my purchase and I have recommended it to several friends.

Upgraded from the round bar style W.D. hitch (the square bars will have the same drawbacks). We've had this hitch for about a year - including several months of nomadic use - and we still love it. This hitch is so easy to use - and no more bars to fool with. also much quieter because it doesn't have bars to make horrible creaking sounds as you slowly roll through the campground or maneuver into and out of your site. It's even better going over sharp rises (like raised railroad tracks) or dips - even while turning. (We dropped a bar one time with the previous hitch). I don't even use the tool to tighten or loosen the chains. I just use the power tongue jack to raise the trailer enough to take the tension off the chains, then loosen or tighten the nuts by hand. Super easy. and still no corrosion on the aluminum parts. very little maintenance - just clean off the road dust occasionally and spray with WD-40. We are very happy with this product!Pros: good sway control; easy to use; quiet; doesn't corrodeCons: must connect/disconnect with truck and trailer in alignment (not really an issue)Notes:This hitch doesn't stop porpoising, but keeping weight over the trailer and truck axles helps (less weight on the hitch and tongue).As with any hitch, keep weight over, or in front of, the trailer axles to eliminate uncontrolled sway.

I have a smaller Forest River toy hauler that I use to take my Harley along when I like. After much research I decided to get the Andersen load distribution hitch for these reasons: relatively light weight, ease of installation and it’s American made. It took less than an hour to install it and just a few minutes to adjust. I went to the Smoky Mountains right after I installed it - about a 420 mile trip from home. I appreciate how it kept the trailer level under all conditions and really eliminated sway and bounce. It’s also much quieter than the others and a cinch to remove from the receiving hitch after arrival. I even got a little better gas mileage with it! I’ve since taken a couple shorter trips as well. So far very satisfied.

I have a LIV 19dbh and a 2018 Ford Explorer for a tow vehicle. The trailer is about 2440 dry and the Explorer tows about 5000lbs. Bring the camper home, which as a 9 hour trip with a 15mph wind, it was not a fun drive. I figured the WDH would help with some of the tongue weight and help with sway. I was able to install it in about 45 mins and was not hard at all. This came in a small box and was a lot lighter than other WDH I had looked at. The camper rides better behind the Explorer and the back does not drop as much. Highly recommend...
